Traditional Distribution
Traditional distribution with magazines usually takes place in super markets, pharmacies, transportation outlets and convince stores. These places are good places to get the magazine out there and known about. These are also places where a lot of people go to on an everyday basis so people usually see these magazines every other day. This is convenient for the magazine producers because they know that people show up at one of these common places at least once in a week. If the magazine looks appealing to the eye, there is a likely chance that they will pick it up, look at it, and potentially buy it. For instance, you can find a lot of reality magazines in the drug store. One thing that people typically enjoy is gossip, especially when it is about celebrities. People want to be able to get the inside scoop on all of the drama that is going on. This is a form of entertainment. A way for them to spend their free time. Some of the news in these magazines are fake news but a lot of the time people would not know the difference. They usually don't care as long as it's entertaining and something to read about. At these local places you can also find health magazines. These magazines are typically trying to draw the attention of females who want that "summer body" all year long. On the covers of these kinds of magazines, there is usually a female model in skin tight outfits. The idea of beauty in todays society is different and that being slim and skinny is the way to go and if you're not then you are deemed unattractive. Again magazine producers know these things and use them to their advantage which is very sneaky.
